I'm currently undertaking a Professional Certificate for Sports Agents at Loughborough University in the UK. I don't know if I will go on to complete my agents' exam, but in the work I have been doing with young players and their families, I have come to realise I need to know the regulations. In this week's course, we are undertaking a simulation of a contract negotiation, and I need to prepare for the 1.5-hour session.
How ironic, therefore, that, over the past couple of weeks, I have had the pleasure of meeting families who are being approached by agents. The themes that emerged from this work are worth reflecting on for us all, so I thought I would drop a blog about it.
