Algorithms 馃槱. This is a topic I have wanted to blog about for several months, and a recent exchange on social media has prompted me to finally put pen to paper about it. Let me start by setting the context.
"The game is a physical game by nature."
Have you ever taken a child to an academy and found that they want to know the height of their mother and father? Clubs ask for this because they want a head start on knowing how tall the child will be when they reach the age of 18. Why? Well, the theory goes that unless you are a tall player, you will struggle to make it as a professional player. I have spoken to a significant number of clubs who will admit that, unless a child is going to be over 6 feet tall, they won't consider them. The game is, after all, physical and full of tall, fast, strong players. Why would a club want a player who isn't all of the above?
